"The afanc am I, who, sought for, bides In hiding on the edge of the lake…" – Lewys Glyn Cothi
Abilities & Limitations
- Talent: Stealth – Only usable to hide near shorelines.
Description: These lake-dwelling predators appear as an unsettling amalgam of gar-fish, reptile, and beaver. They favor lurking just beneath the surface near the shoreline, where they lie in wait to ambush unsuspecting passersby. Thanks to their natural camouflage, spotting one in the water is quite difficult. In combat, they are surprisingly nimble—lashing out with crocodilian jaws, raking claws, and a powerful tail slap. Though they speak no known tongue, they are cunning and far more intelligent than any mere beast. On land, their movement is sluggish, but in water, their great tails propel them with startling speed.
